Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Former two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly proceeding.
